Affiliate Disclosure

We want readers to understand how product links and commercial relationships can affect a buying guide.

Product links and commissions

Auto Gear Pilot links to manufacturers and retailers, including Amazon. Our Amazon product links are currently provided without affiliate attribution. If we add qualifying affiliate links, a purchase through those links may earn this site a commission at no additional charge from us.

A guide using commission-earning links should explain that relationship near the relevant recommendations or links. This page gives background; it does not replace a clear disclosure within an individual guide.

A link can serve different purposes. A manufacturer manual supports a technical statement; a credited video illustrates operation; a retailer listing provides a place to check a product offer. These roles are different from an independent test result. Read the nearby label and the guide’s source notes before treating any destination as evidence for a recommendation.

The commercial relationship attached to a link does not establish compatibility, performance or value. Those questions still depend on the exact product, current documentation and your vehicle or intended task. A retailer button should be considered alongside the guide’s limitations and the requirements that remain for you to verify.

How a retailer link works

A retailer sets the price, availability, delivery terms and return policy. Check the exact model and package on the retailer’s page before ordering. A link from this website does not mean that we sell, ship or provide warranty service for the item.

Read the listing as a separate offer from the guide. Match the complete model name, package and seller, then check what comes in the box. A bundle may include a cable, memory card or charger that another listing leaves out. Those differences can change the usable setup and total cost even when the headline model name looks identical.

Product links do not reserve stock or guarantee a quoted price. If a listing has moved, search for the exact model on the manufacturer’s site and compare the current package. You can report an incorrect destination through our contact form by sending the guide URL and the link text.

How we prepare recommendations

Our current guides are research-based. We compare manufacturer specifications, manuals, compatibility information and credited external reviews. We explain limitations and extra costs where we can verify them. Read our editorial approach for more detail.

We do not describe a product as personally tested unless the article explains the actual test. A manufacturer claim or another creator’s video is identified as such rather than presented as our own experience.

When a guide compares manufacturer ratings, the figures are the manufacturer’s claims under its stated conditions. They should not be read as measurements made by Auto Gear Pilot. Different test conditions, bundles or hardware versions can make superficially similar specifications difficult to compare. The linked primary sources let you check the wording and context for yourself.

We use suitability descriptions rather than inventing a universal winner. For example, an accessory that fits a compatible existing phone-projection system is a different purchase from replacing the vehicle’s stereo. The recommendation should explain the problem it addresses and the requirements it depends on.

Sponsored content and supplied products

Any paid placement, sponsored article or supplied review product should be disclosed in the affected content. A product’s presence on this website by itself is not a claim of a paid partnership. We do not invent brand relationships or testing credentials.

Prices, availability and updates

Listings, model variants and prices can change. A listed specification should be checked against the current manufacturer’s information and the exact seller package. We do not promise that a linked offer will always be available or the lowest price.

Before ordering, check the seller’s current payment, delivery, returns and warranty information directly. Installation, subscription services or optional accessories can be separate costs. Auto Gear Pilot does not set another company’s offer or decide a retailer’s return or warranty claim.

If you have a question about how a recommendation was prepared, include the article and the specific claim when contacting us. Our About page explains the research approach, while the Disclaimer explains the practical limits of the information.

Questions and corrections

If a link, model description or disclosure seems unclear, send the page URL through our contact form. The FTC’s endorsement guidance explains why commission and other material relationships should be clearly disclosed.
