Research-based information
Our current recommendations draw on manufacturer pages, manuals and credited third-party material. They are not presented as hands-on tests by our site unless the article describes that testing. We do not create personal experience, test results or professional credentials that have not been established.
Compatibility and changing specifications
A model name can refer to different packages, regions or hardware versions. Software features and seller listings can change. Confirm compatibility with your exact vehicle, phone and intended task using current documentation before purchasing.
Safe use and installation
A guide cannot assess the condition of your vehicle or every hazard at your location. Follow the vehicle and product manuals. Use qualified help where an installation or repair is beyond your experience.
Do not work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Tire inflation, battery work, electrical connections and torque settings require the correct equipment and instructions. Product safety limits take precedence over a general article.
Illustrative images and videos
Stock photographs show a topic or activity and are not proof that our team tested a particular product. Third-party review videos belong to their creators and are credited. Their conclusions are not automatically our own test results.
Product links and retailer responsibility
We do not control retailer prices, stock, delivery, returns or warranty decisions. Check the seller and exact listing before ordering. Any affiliate relationship is explained in the affected content and in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Report an error
If you spot an inaccurate claim, broken link or unclear credit, send the page URL and relevant source through our contact form. Read our About page for our research and correction approach.
Reading a recommendation in context
A recommendation can help you make a shortlist, but it cannot establish that every product will fit every vehicle. For example, a guide might compare the connections offered by several receivers. Before purchasing one, you still need to confirm the connection, mounting and integration requirements for your particular car. The same applies to a camera package, a tire inflator or a portable starter whose manufacturer sets specific operating limits.
Read the exact model name and the source linked beside an important claim. If you are looking at a different generation, regional variant or seller bundle, treat that as a separate compatibility check. Do not transfer a feature to another version simply because its name or appearance is similar. A missing specification in an article is not an assurance that the requirement does not exist.
Examples are different from measurements
A buying guide may use an example to explain how to compare products, such as recording a tire size, listing required accessories or adding an installation quote to a purchase price. That example is not a measurement of your vehicle and is not a promise of the result you will obtain. A manufacturer’s advertised rating also remains a manufacturer claim unless the article identifies an independent test and explains its conditions.
Similarly, a credited video may help show a product’s controls or a particular installation. The results belong to that source and the setup shown. A stock photograph or illustrative image is there to communicate the topic; it does not document our ownership, workshop work or hands-on testing. Look for an explicit method and attribution before treating an image, number or statement as test evidence.
Checking a current offer and reporting a mismatch
When following a product link, check the selected model, included parts, seller and current terms on the destination page. An offer may change after an article is published, and different variations may have different prices or package contents. Use the seller’s current information for a transaction question and the manufacturer’s current information for a technical requirement. Our article cannot replace either source.
If you notice that an article and a current primary source disagree, send the page URL, exact product model and the relevant manufacturer or official support link. Explain which statement appears incorrect and what the current source says. Do not include account passwords, payment information or private documents that are unnecessary to explain the issue. Use our contact page for that report, and read the affiliate disclosure for information about commercial links.
